6110. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Wst. c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Wst.6/AP.23.4.37 Re. Chassis H.T.Cables. With reference to the failures which recently occurred on Production with these cables, and the discussion at the last Conference, I am sending you herewith copy of a letter received from B.I. Cables (Helsby) Ltd., regarding the sample coil of cable which we rejected. We have now issued a full specification to them and machinery has been set in motion whereby a sample length of cable from each coil is tested in our Laboratory. At the same time the makers have been requested to issue with every delivery of cable a signed Certificate to the effect that the cable has passed our tests.
