| To Mr. from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} X212 c. Mr. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}Ey. E.G/HP.31.7.33. re 3½ litre Bentley. Referring to your memo Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer}1/T.31.7.33, we are definitely not satisfied with the scheme of locking nuts by centre punch on the flywheel fixing, and we are collaborating with Sft.{Mr Swift} in improving the point. LeC.3590 shews the improved scheme to be used. Referring to memo Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer}2/T.31.7.33, the slipper drive centre shews every appearance of the engine having been on the period and we recommend that the engine revolutions be definitely limited to 4250 r.p.m. The slipper drive plate itself is of the strengthened type and has not in this instance failed. Where the fractures occur at the base of the lugs BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} is arranging to radius away the sharp edge of the metal. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
