1021 Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}6/JH. 19th. January, 1940 C.W.Ward, Esq., Messrs. Park Ward & Co.Ltd., 473, High Road, Willesden, LONDON.N.W.10. Dear Ward, I think your programme is excellent except in so far as it deals with the cost question. I think that after building the first six bodies and establishing their costs, it should be possible to effect a saving on the next three bodies quite apart from fittings and trimmings. I should not let the alleged urgency of the first six bodies interfere with your cost work. I feel sure that Mr. Sidgreaves would say the same thing. Incidentally Mr. Sidgreaves has given me a copy of the letter which he has written to Falconer, and I think this outlines a very excellent programme. When you and Green next come to Derby, I think we must go over this programme and decide ways and means of obtaining the necessary information and fix dates. I am sorry there has been a delay in the delivery of the Studebaker body. We have been trying to save money on transport by waiting for a return load. Attached is a copy of a letter I have sent to Green. Yours sincerely, | ||
