To PN.{Mr Northey} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} c. to Mor. SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} 87520. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}7/KT.23.6.31. X235. IMPROVED TYPE SHOCK ABSORBERS. We have today despatched to Cricklewood a second set of 40/50 rear shock absorbers. These are of the improved type and furthermore incorporate certain developments we have made since we sent the last set to London, notably nitroalloy wearing pads. These shock absorbers have completed an endurance test of 75 hrs. on the bumping rig which is equivalent to twice the period we expect our road springs to last, and we may therefore say that they have practically undergone the equivalent of a 10,000 miles road test. We would therefore ask you to report upon their silence as soon as you have had them fitted to the car. This is important as we do not want to make any more of the existing type of shock absorber. We have a set running in parallel on the car in France. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
