Synchro mesh Clutch Cones.

With reference to HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/KW.19.2.34, we should like to try the effect of a screw thread on the bronze cone as a means of preventing cones of finer angle than 10° from sticking and we accordingly send N. Sch.3994 herewith which shows the experiment applied to the 20/25 gearbox.

We think that the cones should be tried both with the steel cone outside and with the steel inside.

We should also like to try duralumin instead of bronze in both the inner and outer positions.
