Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} - from Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} to Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} L.E.S. F.S.H. 350 ROY{Sir Henry Royce}/MS1/P.19.12.36. P.III CHASSIS. Experimental Dept. have ordered Housings G.81938 (Sec. 7041) in R-R Metal. Hughes-Johnson point out that the time expended in making these forgings is 4 hours each, and we can only assume that this is owing to the fact that the dies are not suitable for producing such forgings in R-R metal, on account of the depth of the pocket. In the event of this material being standardised, therefore, it will be necessary to sink new dies and simplify the forging wherever possible. to modify a Roy{Sir Henry Royce} Centre Steering Housing | ||
