X 11 D Exptl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Smth.11/KW. 20th February, 1936. Messrs. Borg & Beck Ltd., Tachbrook Rd., Leamington Spa. For the attention of Mr. Barker. Dear Sirs, Confirming your visit to our Works yesterday, the following points were discussed. (1) You will let us have a detailed drawing of the oil slinger which you fit to the 10" & 11" clutches. We will make one of these in steel for you to fix on to a driven plate, using eight screws with larger heads than formerly. You will also peen over the hub to make the fastening more secure. Pending the testing of this assembly the slinger should not be included in the specification of the 11" clutch. (2) We shall return the 13 1/2 plate No.4 to you in the course of a week or so for you to reface with Hyco linings and cut horse-shoe slots. You will obtain for us particulars of the friction characteristics of Hyco and also enquire as to the facilities for obtaining this material in England. (3) You have agreed to hold the poundage of the green thrust springs specified for the 11" clutch to within the limits of 110 - 115 lbs. (4) We have enquired into the position of the arbor for the 13 1/2 plates and are informed that it ought to be ready for despatch in the course of the next two or three days. | ||
