To Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} from Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}

re 40 m/m Gun in Beaufighter.

We have received the attached letter from Mr.L.S.Frise in reply to our Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}10/JH.29.10.40. enclosing a print of QPL.154 the 1/4 scale layout of the 40 m/m gun in the Beaufighter.

It would appear that we have to make a special plane in order to get our gun tested in the air we have a long road to traverse.

However, Mr. Griffiths mentions to me that when he was at Filton, Mr. Frise spoke of a modified edition of the Beaufighter specially suited for Ground Strafing and called the "Beabomber". It may be to that machine that Mr. Frise alludes. We shall see when he answers our letter in detail.
