Failure of Battery Ignition - 40-G-8 With reference to your PN{Mr Northey}5/DN20.7.23. we have received the cable returned. Although we have had experience of wires breaking and attention has been given to improve the fixing of same, this is the first occasion where a breakage has taken place at this point, and we quite appreciate that it is a matter which requires attention. We should, therefore, be very glad to receive the remaining connection of this cable, i.e. the actual socket from which the wire has broken off, as we are anxious to ascertain exactly where the breakage has taken place, and how the sweating was actually carried out. I shall be glad if you will arrange to have this sent on as soon as ever possible so that we can arrange for the matter to be investigated by our Experimental and Design Departments. We have already got in hand modifications to the wiring job, and I am anxious that we should cover every possible point, so that if any retrospective action is taken, the whole job can be attended to simultaneously.
