(1) Using the original new type filter the engine ran through the test up to 7 1/2 mins, at 1750 r.p.m. when the Autovac was emptied and the engine received no petrol.
(2) Using the modified new type filter the engine ran through up to 4 1/2 mins. at 2000 r.p.m. without running short of petrol, at which point it failed.

N.B.

The modification to the filter consisted of opening the holes A, out to .250" dia. from 3/16", and opening the hole B, out to .3125" dia. from 3/16" dia.
