AUTOVAC TESTS.

Filter comparisons.

Petrol delivery of by autovac at 1500 r.p.m. - engine full throttle opening. Petrol lifted 31 15/16" (equivalent to 6 galls. petrol in tank on a level road). Induction pipe depression (max:) 2.1" Hg.

| Type of filter. | Time for flow of 1 pt.(secs.) | Flow pts/hr. |
|-------------------------------------|-------------------------------|--------------|
| Plain pipe 72" long. | 86.5 | 41.65 |
| Standard filter. | 88.6 | 40.6 |
| New type filter. | 97.6 | 36.8 |
| New type filter, after modification.+ | 88.5 | 40.6 |

+ The modification to the new type filter consisted of opening all holes out to .3125" diameter.

AUTOVAC TESTS - DYNAMOMETER.

Comparison between original and modified new type filter.

The following standard production dynamometer test was carried through on each type of filter. The petrol consumption was set at 52 pts/hr. full throttle at 1500 engine r.p.m.
