S/W WST 86153 To Wst. from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Copy to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}E.Br. C.Ex.M. re Car Radio. Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}6/E5.10.34 Many thanks for Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.1/MA.3.10.34. I have noted with interest all that you report relative to the visit to Messrs. Hoopers. I am very glad to note that there is an English set, i.e. the Ekco, which looks as if it were going to be satisfactory and superior to the American sets. The arrangement proposed regarding the provision and fitting of certain small parts when radio sets are going to be fitted seems to be quite good. I have felt for a long time that we must take a serious interest in this matter because, whether we like it or not, there seems to be little doubt that the demand for radio on cars will increase.
