X4117 F.R. L. C. to C. C. to PH. C. to HH. C. to Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} TPG/P26.4.20. RE. LORD ROCKSAVAGE'S CAR 12-LY. We have received your memo. ref. D {John DeLooze - Company Secretary} /CAB/T23.4.20, attaching complaint regarding the above car, Mr. Cotes's memo. CS/T21.4.20, and Lord Rocksavage's letter A {Mr Adams} /KH/. Dealing also with PH's memo. to me PHT/DM {D. Munro} /30.4.20, the above car arrived here on Friday afternoon the 23rd. inst., and we have spent some considerable time in investigating the various complaints made with reference to this car. We will deal with the complaints in order as detailed by Lord Rocksavage in his letter, with the car as received. 1. High Pressure Washer at Tank. The driver complains that there is a leakage of pressure due to the poor joint between the petrol tank filter cover and the petrol tank itself. We appreciate that the pressure does not hold very well, and this we will investigate and cure, as we have tested this joint and find there is no leakage. 2. Noisy Dynamo. This we have tested and although it is not quiet, we consider it is quite normal and up to the average of dynamos which we obtain from Messrs. Lucas. The matter of obtaining quiet dynamos is one about which we are concerned, and a matter which we are taking up, but at present there seems no alternative, if we are to get any deliveries at all, but to make the best of what we can get, a point which we understand has already been made clear in this respect. We take it, however, in this case it is desirable to fix a quieter dynamo if we can obtain same. 3. Cut-out very noisy. This was rectified by a 2 minutes' job, by fixing the silencer in its proper position. The silencer had evidently been taken down and had not been fixed correctly. | ||
