20 HP. TIMING GEARS.

The 20 HP. timing gears are giving a certain amount of trouble. At present the idler wheel is not moveable as on the 40/50.

We have run the movable idler wheel 20,000 miles on 10-G-111 to the scheme as indicated on the attached sketch.

We understand that you have previously agreed that this scheme was satisfactory but xxx would like confirmation of this. We will then issue a standardisation sheet immediately to help production out of their difficulty.

There is no doubt that the movable idler wheel materially assists in obtaining quiet timing gears.
