Messrs. Rolls-Royce,Ltd.,
DERBY.

For the Attention of Mr.Robotham.

Dear Sirs,

We duly received your letter of the 28th ulto: with further reference to the Temp: Indicating Lamp for fitting to the instrument board of one of your cars.

There are one or two points on this which we should like to discuss further with you, viz:

1). Do you wish us to supply the red light only, or also the actuating mechanism.

2). Is this lamp to be used only for experimental test purposes in connection with temperature rise of the circulating water of the cooling system or if satisfactory would it be required to be put into production as a standard accessory.

It would help us very much if you would let us have a rough sketch of what you require together with the limiting dimensions.

We are afraid that it will be difficult to use any of our standard parts for this but we could look further into the question of doing so if you could let us have further information as to your exact requirements.

As soon as we hear from you again we will immediately go into the question of making this device and let you know definitely whether or not we are able to do so.

Yours faithfully,
JOSEPH LUCAS, LIMITED.
ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT.
