With reference to the bevel pinion bearings, we have shewn an existing Goshawk arrangement at Fig 1, slightly adapted to suit the universal joint. In this case the diameter of the flange and the size of the bolts is reduced as compared with Goshawk, but we think that the flange might be still further reduced, and the somewhat odd looking undercut below the flange, taken away if a design somewhat as shewn on Fig 7 were adopted.

The arrangement of the brakes and outer end of the axle we are shewing on some additional schemes.
