X4199 To D/L. from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Clark. c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} ACCIDENT TO 18.G.IV. Whilst driving the above car in the direction of Chellaston, I came into collision with another vehicle at Shelton Lock. I was negotiating a slight left hand bend at about 25 to 30 M.P.H. (the weather was foggy and my side lamps were illuminated) when a small car appeared around the bend (travelling in the opposite direction) and the driver appeared to be heading straight for the radiator of my car. I swerved on to the pavement and braked in order to avoid a head-on collision. The rear of my car, however, swung round slightly, and the other car hit my offside rear wing. Throughout the whole incident I remained well on my correct side, and actually brought the car to rest on the pavement. The driver of the other vehicle admitted not having seen me. The damage to my car, 18.G.IV, was a damaged off-side rear wing. The damage to the other car was the rear off-side panel, wheel, and wing. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/H.R.Clark. | ||
