- 2 - BRAKES. ------- (1) Simplified brake layout. Deletion of shafts, levers, etc. with consequent elimination of drip plugs. Using Girling operation scheme - Non spongy. (2) Automatic adjustment all round. The present adjustment is very difficult, especially the rear. Adjustment is now accessible, and requires no tools. (3) Steel brake shoes to overcome the effect of shoe expansion, due to heat. [Handwritten text with strikethrough] not wanted now [Handwritten text] Almost certainly wanted is direct braking to 4 wheels c/w'd (4) Some provision for eliminating brake thumps. Direct braking on all four wheels. (5) Brake area increased to .125 sq. in. ton at least. This will be done. (6) Lighter operation. More efficient operation scheme will improve this. STEERING. --------- (1) Steering improved for road shocks and joggles. Yes, we are expecting the independent front wheel suspension to do this. (2) Increased steering lock. Yes, the shorter wheelbase will be of benefit, and the independent front wheel suspension. REAR AXLE. ---------- (1) More accessible means of checking and replenishing the oil level in the rear axle. We want to know what can be considered better than the present. | ||
