X6099 RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} C - Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BY/RD2/W.21-4-31. Re :- 40-50 H.P. Chassis : Dynamo. In R1/M.9-3-31,R.suggests a series winding to assist keeping up the output at higher speeds, and we send you herewith our drawing D.73324 showing such a winding. Will you please have one set put in hand. The poles we propose to use are standard but slightly thinned down,as shown on D.73324,and for the test machine the two ends of the series winding should be left long enough to permit making the connections to the brush holder and the field external,so that the winding can be tried in opposition and assisting. The slight modifications necessary to the brush gear are shown on D.73325. We do not consider it necessary to make a complete new dynamo,as if,when the field coils are ready we could be notified,we could then arrange which dynamo this test should be made upon. The wire required to wind these coils is a standard article. Blue Prints D.73324/5 attached herewith. BY/RD. [Circular Stamp]: RECEIVED 21 APR 1931 | ||
