XS350 HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} } FROM DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} } DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}1/M30.5.31. REAR AXLE RATIOS. X. 7350. X. 5350. With reference to HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}7/MJ 20531., as regards the hypoid gears we consider that the best plan is to give the gear manufacturers the available space and let them work in a pair of gears of the desired ratio, submitting the design to us before they proceed to make. We believe that there is no reason why the high ratio hypoid should not be got into the same space as the present ratio but we think that the manufacturers could tell us whether this is so. With reference to the 13/50 ratio for the 25HP. there seems to be no difficulty about getting this in, and we suggest that Derby could make the design. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
