To Sr. from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}8/ET.19.5.41. NAMES OF POST WAR MOTOR CARS. ------------------------ As you know I have suggested a number of names for our post war range of cars, some of which may ultimately be used. These are:- BENTLEY:- "Corniche", "Clipper", "Comet", "Cresta". ROLLS-ROYCE:- "Silver Dawn", "Silver Ripple", "Silver Wraith". I observe that Packards have appropriated the word "Clipper" for their new model. Would it be possible to register a claim to all the names tabulated above, for use in this country, to prevent anyone else forestalling us. The names are quite likely to be purloined, since they inevitably appear on drawings which have gone to people like Lucas or M.A. Smith. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
