Re SPECTRECodename for Phantom III APPEARANCE. We are going ahead producing a complete mock-up of the SpectreCodename for Phantom III car with the best we can make of the orthodox appearance. As soon as the body is panelled, we shall put it back on the dummy chassis, to which will be fitted the vertical radiator and bonnet of the latest dimensions. We are making a set of orthodox front wings and a front apron. We shall also fit up some lamps and a horn. When we have made the best job of this possible, it will be available for inspection, and we can take photographs of it. We feel that besides working at a new and modernised appearance, we ought in parallel work at the orthodox as well so that both can be seen by Sales. Unless we show them the orthodox in parallel with the improved and modernised appearance, they will always have in their mind that they might have liked it, had they have seen it. We admit that the car now in Derby - 30EX cannot be shown them as an example of the best orthodox appearance that is possible. As soon as we receive from you, the radiator shell of the sloping and vee type, we will put this on our jig and build up a second set of front wings and apron to suit it, so that this can be viewed and photographed. We shall be sending you by the weekend, our drawing of the proposed orthodox front wings. Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} | ||
