(5) If satisfactory as regards (2), (3) and (4), the condenser shall now be fitted up in its case.

(6) The condenser, now in its case, shall be again tested by applying to its terminals a voltage of 400 (R.M.S.) for a period of one minute.

(7) The capability of holding a static charge should again be verified.

(8) The condenser should again be tested for final capacity, when the milliamperes taken at 200 volts 50 cycles for a condenser at atmospheric temperature shall lie between the limits 13.5 and 16.0.

These limits should be increased or reduced proportionally if the voltage is not exactly 200.

Note:- Corresponding capacity limits .21 to .25 micro farads.

(9) The condensers should be given a short run on an otherwise standard distributor and sparking rig, with a view to observing the degree of sparking at the contact points.

A condenser with a faulty connection will generally shew bad sparking. This test is important.
