Noted

The bell crank lever for the hand brake shoes on the O.S.R. hub partially seized on the Oilite bush after the end of the mileage. This will be inspected when the car is stripped.

Light servo squeaks were experienced in the latter part of the running. The brakes were free from squeaks under dry conditions but inclined to squeaks under damp conditions or after washing.

Propellor Shaft. LOP. G.82089.
Existing, complete to the above LOP. incorporating:-
Trunnions with hardened splines.
G.B.2310 Front Trunnion
G.B.2311 Pin for joint
Sliding joint fitted at rear.

The shaft was free from periods but there was a slight vibration above 60 m.p.h. which became more noticeable as speed increased, but was not bad except when the axle pinion bearing became slack. Part of the vibration was attributed to the lift in the rear gearbox mounting.

No disadvantages were found with the sliding joint fitted at the rear and it remained free on the splines.

Exhaust Fittings. LOP. E.86603.
See HPS{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr}/CP.19/BA.26.1.37.

One exhaust blow was experienced from the rivetted outlet flange from the main silencer to the swan neck. This is receiving attention.
