The noticeable effects of the roll-rod to the driver were reduction of dipping of outside front corner of car if steering was locked over hard, and a more rigid feeling on corners. The car responded more quickly to the steering but this also made it liable to be over corrected on rough wavy roads. Many drivers would prefer the car with it fitted.

Bad oil leaks developed from the rear jacks. They were otherwise satisfactory.

The front jacks were attached to the lower triangle levers and gave no trouble.

Pedal pressure was light and progressive, and the brakes were most effective and satisfactory for gentle and fairly hard braking. Under emergency braking, the rear wheels were inclined to lock, and the stopping distance from 30 m.p.h. was approximately 45 feet. The brakes were, however, free from fading and most constant in operation. The wear of the linings was practically even all round and only approximately half the adjustment was used up in 21.500 miles. These features combined with the ease and smoothness of operation, compensated to a large degree for the inferior stopping distance.

Bad servo judders were experienced. These were due to the washer between the servo star springs being of such a thickness as to render the springs inoperative. A washer of normal thickness was fitted which cured the judders. As an experiment requested by Works, the star springs were removed, and servo judders again occurred.
