[STAMP: RECEIVED 03 DEC 1928]

Re Chassis No.25-MC. - Lord Rochdale.

We have a case of the Exide Battery belonging to the above chassis, failing (3 defective cells) after giving only 16 months service.

We shall be pleased to know whether you would like to have this battery in your department for examination.

We have had 3 previous cases of battery failure on the Phantom chassis, one with which we are conversant, i.e. 1-SC. Downing, P & R.{Sir Henry Royce} battery. We think you have papers regarding this matter. The other two cases are concerning Chassis 37-RC.{R. Childs} Bullock, and 76-HC. McConnell, and we attach hereto Messrs. Chloride Electrical Co's. report with regard to these.

At the time we dealt with the latter two batteries, we were under the impression that they were isolated cases of battery trouble, but in view of our receiving two more batteries which have failed, i.e. 1-SC. and 25-MC., we feel we should draw your attention to the matter.
