Mr Hancock X4429 HS. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BYS-P27.4.23. 40/50 CHASSIS. ROAD SPRINGS. Now that we have standardised Firths springs for Goshawk and are at liberty to use either Woodheads or Firths, it is possible that in the near future, if Messrs. Woodheads do not get bulk orders from us for the Goshawk they will realise that we are getting springs made elsewhere and may refuse to supply 40/50 springs: Personally I do not think it is a very great danger, but it does exist, it is therefore important that we should carry on with the 40/50 springs with Messrs. Firths, and I suggest that we should give them some definite information in regard to the difference in damping on the first spring supplied as compared with similar Woodheads, with the object of enabling them to get further with the problem.
