( 2 ) 1) Starter Motors. The faults of these have been thoroughly gone into. Dynamos. Chiefly faulty fuses. Lucas Headlamps. Faulty mechanism. Mellow Tone Horns. Are being returned to Lucas. 2) Chiefly caused by oil being drawn down Valve stems. Ignition plugs are to be fitted which are hotter and burns the oil off. Also steps are being taken to lessen the oil being drawn down the valve stems. 3) There is no known remedy for making the clutches free from jagger. Experimental schemes are in progress. 4) These faults are being continually taken up with makers. 5) The Works are paying attention to the fitting of the countershaft. 6) Experimental are trying to improve the damper troubles, but apart from improved manufacture there is no cure. There will be a series of damper knock complaints after an average of 10,000 miles. ----------------- RM{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} | ||
