x7960 S/W...Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} [struck through] c. t Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} C4/C29.8.33 Re Tele-control Shock Absorbers. Worl/R28.8.33 -------- I note copy of memo. from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} wherein he recommends he should fit our London Limousine with Tele-control Shock Absorbers, and we will arrange accordingly. We certainly would welcome at the earliest possible date our own hydraulic control, [struck through] and I am pleased to note that you expect to be able to introduce them at a fairly early date. With regard to our trying them on a Trials car in London, we should very much welcome an opportunity of doing this and Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}'s car is available for you at any time you like; if you will let us know when you are ready we will send it up. There is only one point in connection with this, viz. that it is now very little used and, of course, it would be much more valuable to us from an experience point of view if we could get a good long mileage; no doubt this would be more valuable to you also. I note, however, that it is only suitable for chassis from 126 in 'O-2' series onwards. Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}'s car is the same series as our Trials Limousine No. 102-MY. I was wondering whether the special fittings you put on Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}'s car could be fairly easily transferred to 102-MY so that we could get more actual experience without doing mileage specially, in which case we would like to have them fitted to this car instead of the tele-control. Please let me know. If this cannot be done then I will arrange to send Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}'s car up to you at once and we must arrange some special runs for the device to be tried out.
