For the attention of Mr.V.Russell

Dear Sir,

We thank you for your letter of the 23rd instant reference E.2 referring to the petrol gauge fitted with a warning light. We note from your letter that you have already laid out an instrument for the single wire type and we should be glad if you will therefore, send us along such an instrument and tank attachment for test as soon as possible.

With regard to the whole question of fitting contacts inside the tank attachment we should like to know what precautions you make for explosive vapour being ignited by the current made and broken at the contacts.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
