May 23rd. 1934. Messrs. Rolls Royce, Ltd., DERBY. Dear Sirs, For the attention of H.E. West, Esq. Further to our Mr.Nichols' letter of the 22nd inst., we confirm that we have already produced a petrol gauge complete with a warning light. This instrument, however, has only been laid out for the single wire (earth return) type of instrument and it will be necessary for us to go further into the question before we are in a position to submit a sample suitable for the 3 wire type of instrument which we supply you. At this stage, we should like to say that we propose mounting two insulated terminals on the top plate of the tank attachment and fitting an insulated contact arm to the centre spindle as we do not think it advisable to attempt to use the existing contact arm. We should be glad if you would kindly let us have your views on this proposal, and in the meantime are proceeding on the above lines. Yours faithfully, For S.SMITH & SONS (MOTOR ACCESSORIES) LIMITED. V.{VIENNA} Russell ELECTRICAL ENGINEER. TO AVOID DELAY ALL ENVELOPES SHOULD BE ADDRESSED TO THE FIRM. | ||
