Reideo 307. Swell. Please follow up Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} PY. c.c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} FHC. E/JNR.{Charles L. Jenner}1/HP.10.11.36. Phantom III Camshaft and Bottom Tappets. Ref. SFT{Mr Swift}/WNW.1/DR.1.10.36. We send you herewith:- LeC.5371 and LeC.5294. These modifications have been made in order to:- (1) Reduce cost by using two dogs for holding down the tappets instead of 4. (2) To make a more accurate location for the tappet so that it will be true with the cam. (3) Made suitable for the small diameter camshaft. Although the smaller diameter camshaft is shown on the designs the modified tappet location and clamps can be used in conjunction with the existing camshaft. Will you kindly note that the estimated saving per engine is 8 1/2 bonus hours. E/JNR.{Charles L. Jenner} LeC.5371) LeC.5294)herewith. | ||
