800A H.F.Hamilton, Hotel de France, Chateauroux, Indre, France. c. to GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} Cricklewood. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}3/AP.28.10.36. Thank you for your note of the 26th October. The measuring apparatus you have rigged up appears to be most ingenious, but we hope you will not concentrate your energies on this rather than the merits of the engine. With regard to the idling of the engine, we should like you to tell us whether you can improve the tick-over by retarding the hand control. The Delco governor on the Bentley has given us good results, this permits of a later ignition timing under idling conditions. There seems to be a mix up on the governors and Swindle is looking into this. We are sending you some porcelain plugs to see if they remain free from misfiring any better than the mica plugs. Please send a daily report even if the mileage you do is negligible. If you are doing experimental work say what it is briefly. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
