Re your memo. GWH{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}/HFH{Hoppy F. Hamilton}/2/JAB.24.10.36.
we gather from this that the governor handed to you by myself has a spring with only 7 coils, the number of the governor being N.S.B.W.

This spring if your information is correct, is the wrong type and should be a 9 coils spring as instructed by us to be fitted.

The advance curve which this gives however is very close to what is required and it would not be a waste of time to carry out your cylinder head tests with both this governor and the special one which Waller carried out his tests with.

Actually Waller's governor with the 9 coil spring is the correct one.

These two governors should be timed the same that is with the hand control in the fully advanced position 13° for the deturbulated head and 10° B.T.D.C. with standard head.

Will you please confirm that the governor frames in the above two governors are identical with the attached drawing EB.2832 (note the advance stops).

Also attached is the standard frame (EG0879) which you will note has not got these stops. This should be identical with the standard governor which you have.
