(16) Remarks re silence of operation:-

Sleeve noise reduced,
Gears noisy especially at about 1200 rpm.
Bearings hum at high speeds.
Contact breaker noisy.

General noise of these magnetos could possibly be reduced by enclosing the armature tunnel more rigidly in a solid casting.
