COPY. W.M. FHR1/H251012. [Stamp: RECEIVED 30 OCT 1912] [Signature: Jn Wormald] Grand Hotel Du Canadel. Par le Lavandou, (VAR) 25th October 1912. Mr Johnson RECEIVED from F.H.R. for T.C. & Mr Spinney. With reference to the port-holes for letting in fresh air to the scuttle dashboard on the London-Edinburgh type car. I returned the drawing to Mr Spinney as the scheme was not yet satisfactory. The hinge on the "off side" was too short, and I think the shutters should be made the same size and shape on both sides, and the hinge should be the full depth. I think we had better try a narrow one as deep as possible. Referring to the operating of these shutters, a good place to operate these from would be under the scuttle dashboard in the centre, and I send a sketch of a possible general arrangement. Still simpler it would be to open and close them with the foot. F.H.Royce. [Handwritten on left margin: X53] [Stamped on bottom right: P-1] | ||
