Bentley Intake & Exhaust Systems.

We are making an effort to get some weight off the above 2 systems and would like you to make and fit to 5-B-IV for the next 15,000 miles run in France the following modified parts :-

Intake System.

Intake Bend EB.686 to be made in magnesium instead of aluminium.

Air silencer which is now made in 16 SWG. material, to have the following parts made in 20 SWG. material -

EB.733. Connecting pipe from cast bend to air silencer.
EB.1611. Air Silencer outer shell.
EB.727. " " centre pipe.
EB.1696. " " Baffle.
E.83765. " " End Piece.
E.83764. " "
E.83767. " " Inner Frame to remain as at present, ie.18 SWG.

Exhaust System.

Straight through downtake pipe and modified second expansion box to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1585, leaving the remainder of the exhaust system as it is at present (this is already lighter than present standard production).
