c. to C. c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} 4379 Expl. Dept. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}3/MJ. 1st. February, 1934. The Avon India Rubber Co. Ltd., 41 & 42 Livery Street, Birmingham,3. Dear Sirs, With reference to the set of 'Duo' tread Avon tyres which we obtained from you for test. These tyres have been run by us about 1,600 miles. We should definitely condemn them because of the amount of noise which comes from them on the road. They were taken off one car because the driver complain that they were poor for non-skid qualities. We are running them on in order to wear them out but so far we have found no qualities in these tyres which would warrant us considering them for standard equipment. Yours faithfully, For Rolls-Royce Ltd. C. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} The recommendation that we should try these tyres we believe came from Lord Wargrave. You will see from the above that they are not as good as the tyres we are using. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
