The following "Sales" officials tried the driving seats of both 15EX & 10.EX. at a conference last week.-- C. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} PN.{Mr Northey} CWB. Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} and it was agreed that the steering wheel was too close to the sq squab for the average man. Both these cars have a wheel to squab dimension of 14 ins. as opposed to 16ins. on our standard cars. It will be remembered that we moved the wheel back 2 ins. on these cars at the request of "Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}" and "Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}" during a visit to W.W. last Autumn. It is suggested that we may have gone too far and that the best compromise might be to mve the wheel back only one inch from the original position on 10EX. and so get a wheel to squab dimension of 15ins. We do not wish to move thes squab back to get the room as the pedal reach is thought to be about right as it is at present for the average man. It can be moved back for extra long men such as PN.{Mr Northey} We have asked "By" to hold up the 12 sets of columns for production, but have not agreed to the alteration going through. As this matter is urgent we shall be glad to receive your comments. EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} [Handwritten in red ink] We think that- for a sports car where it-is absolutely essential that an owner driver gets the feel - Can we manage 2 Column Lengths with a choice of rakes? | ||
