I am not sure I am right in asking for entire support from the frame, but I feared any slight movement might make the pedal rub on the pedal plate, so we will go on, and if we don't like it we will try a more orthodox scheme of supporting inside end on gearbox.

N.sch.2531 is the preferable design, but one thinks the pieces might be better proportioned, starting with a wider fork.

This N.sch.2531 makes many pieces alike: so good for manufacture.

SEE ORIGINAL FOR SKETCH.

I am wishing to save weight, material and length of drilled holes and bolts.

You say clearance holes for bolts used as pins, but you mean push fit clearance (i.e. closest fit that will go together without special reaming.)

I prefer tube inside socket: we have good design fork ends somewhere.
