We are having considerable difficulty in obtaining the output desired for the above. The trouble is not due to the windings heating up but due to the fact that the iron losses and armature short circuit currents etc., are accounting for a fairly heavy temperature rise. We are working away at this machine but it must be impressed upon the War Office that in view of the research work involved it will necessarily be some time before we can give any useful results.
