RE: OBSTRUCTED RADIATORS & BOILING.

-------------------

As long as these cases of trouble are noted and watched, we presume from what you say, that there is nothing more we can do.

We understand from your memo that the time when a radiator may be found to be obstructed with slime will usually depend on the energy with which the water pump gland is lubricated by the driver.

In the case of Sir Pomeroy Burton - 95-WR, we were surprised because this car was taken out new by Mr. Nutt as Barker's Riviera Demonstration car this January, sold almost immediately to Sir Pomeroy Burton and had to be dealt with by the Nice Depot in March.

A further report received this morning from Ps. reads :

"Nice Depot now inform me that when the radiator was cleaned out they found a considerable amount of black slime came away with the caustic solution employed."

With regard to the use of anti-freezing solutions I regret to say we have no information as to the extent to which such are employed by owners. I am, however, circulating the Inspecting Engineers for information.
