OVER-HEATING OF CAR.

We understand that the Repair Dept. make a point of removing the plates and core plugs from the cylinder blocks after running 20,000 miles and cleaning out the accumulated deposit of oxide etc.

We think this procedure is most necessary.

We have had a case experimentally of the water passages of the 20 HP. engine becoming so obstructed by deposits that the car tended to over-heat and also detonated excessively due to local points of stagnation.

We think that in the case of any car where the owner complains of over-heating and tests shew its performance to be definitely below the average in this respect, if cleaning the radiator does not completely overcome the trouble, a thorough scavenging of the cyl. blocks should be undertaken.

The Repair Dept. will doubtless be able to indicate the method of doing this which they have found to be the most satisfactory.
