FILES. X1265 21st Spetember, 1936. Up to the present, the drive shaft had a knurled finish and by an interference fit the coupling which had a plain bore was pressed on. Due possibly to inaccuracies on limits of pumps tighter than others several drives have failed in production. We think it more likely to be the former as there has not been an experimental failure. In the proposed new arrangement both the shaft and the coupling have definite serrations (E.88348). Will instruct for above on future and existing units.
