Mr. Johnson,

ing if they have any second hand motors for sale which would suit our purpose, but they inform me they have none to offer.

They, however, quote for a new motor, capable of giving about 18 H.P. at 100 revs per minute at 100 volts. When supplied with 200 volts, the speed is increased to about 2000revs per minute and the horse power would go up correspondingly.

I wish to ask if we may purchase this motor. The motor will not have a temperature rise of more than 75° Fah. above the temperature of the surrounding atmosphere after six hours run with the loads specified, so that we should be able to put a greater load on the machines for short periods.
