12 - Automatic drum, brake and cable tensioner required.

13 - Cable to have a vertical angle of 200° at minimum and the horizontal angle 120° minimum (the horizontal angular position of the cable on Cronfeldt's winch is 110°).

In view of the above proposals, the following designs, which were practically complete, will require serious alteration:-

1 - The quarter scale of the winch on the trailer will require re-drawing. One week will be needed.

2 - The rear paying in roller and switch are scrapped. The new design will take three weeks.

3 - The layout of the gears and gear train will have to be re-designed to take alternative ratios. This will require about two weeks.

4 - The drum winding in carriage is slightly modified to provide an inch gap between rollers and remove guillotine. Two weeks will be required.

5 - The guillotine requires redesigning. This will take three weeks approximately.

6 - The automatic brake and tensioner is a new design. Four weeks will be required.

7 The cable drum requires modifying and a guard should be added. Two weeks required.

8 - Hand throttle. New design. Two weeks required.

9 - The hand brake and operating gear. Three weeks required.

10 - The launching winch sub-frame. Two weeks required.

11 - Lubrication and control gear. About three weeks.

To complete these alterations and new designs will take approximately 26 weeks. We therefore believe that, if all the Section worked on the winch at the same time, it would take about six to seven weeks.
