To Wd. {Mr Wood / Mr Whitehead} from EFC. {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} C. EY. EP. {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} V6796 EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} 1/T12.2.26. X.8796 - STANDARD WATFORD MAGNETOS. Referring to your Wd {Mr Wood / Mr Whitehead} 2/14/11.2.26. with attached letter dated Feb. 10th. from Messrs. Norths, in answer to my preliminary queries with regard to the electrical timing of their magneto. I should be pleased if you will acknowledge this letter and say that I shall, in due course, be considering the matter more thoroughly and possibly making some tests, and I shall be pleased to give a further opinion as to whether I think the magneto can be improved in these respects. In the meanwhile, there are just two points which might be mentioned - one is, that both the other two magnetos mentioned in our report were also 60° range magnetos, and the other, that the question did not mainly arise over any dissatisfaction with the electrical performance but from the probability that the quietness of the magneto would be improved by the adoption of some different form of cams.
