Sheet No.2. Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd. 10th February 1926. The question of output and range of advance is a matter of compromise in a magneto of a given size. The improvement suggested could be obtained by fitting longer cams but this could only be done by reducing the angle of advance. We have always been of the opinion that the output was sufficient to meet your requirements and that you found the range of 60° to be an advantage on your engine. We shall be pleased if you will give the matter your further consideration in view of the explanations given in this letter and if there is anything further you would like us to do in the matter we trust you will advise us when any suggestion you put forward will receive our most careful consideration. Yours faithfully, FOR AND ON BEHALF OF NORTH & SONS LTD. (Sgd) C.H. Kirby. DIRECTOR. | ||
