To: HEW Order No. Customer's No. 500 Hours Endurance Test on Lucas Distributor Type X3-1 The above distributor has now completed a 500 hours endurance test. The test was run in conjunction with a Lucas coil Type M3-0 which is of the outside primary type having an enclosed ballast resistance. The chief points of interest are as follows. Contact Point Condition. These points were at the commencement of the test, domed, but are now worn to practically flat surfaces. The total being .004 in the case of each set of points. The condition of the points is fairly good, but they seem more liable to "pitting" than do the points we use on the new type distributor. The condition of these points is definitely inferior to the points on a Peregrine distributor after a similar test.
