Re Failure of P&R in 3X Battery (159)
A P&R cell (no4) has failed in this battery. This cell originally came from S4 battery (157) & has been on our own bench life test 2 years & has run 31,000 miles & is 3 1/2 years old.
Failure was due to sediment accumulating on the edge of the separators & bridging the plates causing a short.
The negative plates & separators were in good condition, but the positives were weak & had only lost a moderate amount of paste.
